Warner Wins Dulles Airport Automated People Mover System

L.K. Comstock, an operating subsidiary of RailWorks Corporation and one of the nation’s largest specialty electrical contractors, has been selected as the Prime Subcontractor to install the Automated People Mover (APM) System at Washington Dulles International Airport. L.K. Comstock and Company is responsible for designing and installing the power distribution, intrusion detection, automatic platform door and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems. In addition, the company will install the command, central and communication systems and the APM-related equipment at the facilities four new stations.
The Dulles APM System will operate underground in two parallel, two mile tunnels. Trains riding on rubber wheels will connect the Dulles Main Terminal with tiers 1 and 2, and concourses A, B, C and D. Departing passengers using the APM system will have already cleared security and will remain secure during the brief ride to the terminals and gates.
Warner will assist with the development of the updated schedule, provide bi-weekly updates and the analysis of any delays. Jodi Staub will lead Warner’s team of Tracy Sinclair and Kyle Logan.
